Day one of Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Edinburgh’s two day visit to Jersey concluded with a truly historic moment – a visit to the Ecréhous, believed to be the first ever visit by a Member of the Royal Family to the reef.
Earlier in the day, The Duchess met local farmers, producers, environmental leaders and a variety of children and young people learning more about Jersey’s commitment to sustainable food production and stewardship of our natural environment.
A memorable first day celebrating both Jersey’s people and its unique landscape.
Day two of The Duchess of Edinburgh’s visit to Jersey began with an early meeting with members of the Island’s Reserve Forces on Reserves Day, as part of Armed Forces Week.
The visit concluded at EYECAN, where Her Royal Highness joined celebrations for the charity’s 140th anniversary. During the visit, The Duchess met clients, families and volunteers. Her Royal Highness learned more about the support EYECAN provides to Islanders living with sight loss while taking part in a white cane exercise, and saw first-hand how Meta smart glasses can help people with visual impairments navigate everyday life.
